A leading behavioral scientist, Professor Brent Smith is the Senior Associate Dean of the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University. Previously, he served on the faculty at London Business School and Cornell University and has taught at UC Berkeley, Oxford, INSEAD, Columbia, the Technical University of Denmark, and the Indian School of Business.
Professor Smith has conducted executive programs globally for companies such as Royal Dutch Shell, ExxonMobil, BP, Total, ADNOC, ONGC, Saudi Aramco, Marathon Oil, Dynegy, INEOS, Baker Hughes, National Oilwell Varco, Cameron, CGGVeritas, Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, HSBC, Deutsche Bank, KPMG, Barclays, Royal Bank of Scotland, Microsoft, IBM, Ericsson, PROS, Roche, Genentech, Schneider Electric, Eaton Corporation, and Cooper Industries among many others. Professor Smith currently serves as a member of the advisory board of the MD Anderson Cancer Center Leadership Institute.
Professor Smith has twice received the Scholarly Achievement Award from the Academy of Management. Professor Smith’s consulting focuses on enhancing organizational effectiveness through research-grounded interventions in the areas of executive team development, acquisition integration, enterprise culture change, and organizational alignment. He specializes in helping organizations align strategy, critical organizational capabilities, and culture. His recent clients include companies across the energy value chain.
A sought-after expert on Corporate Strategy and M&A, and has extensive experience consulting global energy clients, Dr. Prashant Kale serves as Associate Professor of Strategic Management in The Jones Graduate School of Business. His research focuses on Corporate Strategy, Strategic Alliances, and Mergers & Acquisitions. His articles on these topics have been published in reputed international journals such as the Strategic Management Journal, Harvard Business Review, California Management Review, MIT Sloan Management Review, European Management Journal, Managerial and Decision Economics, Academy of Management Perspective, and others.
